LCD Screen Replacement - 2 Wire?

Hi, I have a A1181 Black Macbook 13" Early 2008.

The screen was damaged and I am looking for a replacement.

Many of the parts I see online say to make sure my computer is 2 wire vs 3.

How do I know this without opening the computer up? I want to wait for the part to do that.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Here is the IFIXIT guide you'll need to follow: MacBook Core 2 Duo Display Replacement.

If you review Step32 you'll see the difference between the Two Vs Three wire versions. Basically its the Antennas. One model has the Bluetooth as a separate part and antenna which you can see in Step21 in the guide.

Popping off the upper case to do the inspection is quite easy! I would do that so you get the correct display assembly.

Thank you. Is there any other way for me to know before purchasing and not opening my laptop up?

Can I look up by my serial number to see if I have a MacBook Core 2 Duo Santa Rosa/Penryn with two antenna cables?

Try the EveryMac lookup. See if you have the Santa Rosa version or not. I still think popping a few screws is more definitive. It's really not that hard to do.
