Why won't my iPod touch turn on?

I received an iPod Touch 5th Generation from a friend of mine. I went to turn it on and got nothing. I then charged it for about an hour and got nothing. I tried plugging it into my laptop and it didn't read it either. What is wrong and how can I fix it?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Check the charging port for any dust or lint inside. Clean it with a toothpick or equivalent to get out the gunk. Hopefully that gets it charging.

It looks completely fine and the device heats up when charging, but the screen doesn't turn on and it is not read by my laptop

I think it has a bad LCD. I will bring it to get fixed today and see what an expert has to say. They did an excellent job fixing my iPad so they can probaby fix it

Make sure button on top is set so that you do not see the orange lock color beneath then push and hold LG. Round button for up to 10 seconds it should come on if battery is charged if not I suggest taking it in for repair
