Why is the battery draining too fast

I will not never know if the battery was defective from the start, but I replaced the original battery in my iphone with one I bought from eBay. I guess it could be a cheap aftermarket, third party battery? It drains abnormally fast and it's not right at all. This morning it was , I believe, 50-some % and when I checked on it after I got home , it was 16%, if memory serves. It was turned off as well. So, all I have to do is get a battery from ifixit this time and I'm good to go or is there anything else it might be?

iPhone 4 to 5S last on average 12-18 hours. I could be wrong but that's how iPhones have been for me.

You got a bad battery. I'd get one off a reputable site like iFixit. I dont purchase any repair parts off eBay or Amazon. There's too much inconsistency with quality in my experiences.

Just wanted to try to replace the battery I purchased on ebay with the original one that was already installed when I got the phone. Seems like it's ...swelling up a bit and the screen had 'popped'. Definitely faulty battery, right? Good thing I removed it now.

Any battery that swells is faulty. That means the battery chemicals are unstable and produces gas which expands the battery in result.

Which can of course push the screen and glass up.
