cleaning screen connectors- can I use methylated spirits?

just trying to figure out why the touch screen response doesnt work after replacing the screen- tried disconnecting battery, yes the back plate is on, just want to try cleaning the connections before contacting the screen seller and wonder if methylated spirits is alright to use. cheers!

Check if the front display connectors are concave. You can look at it from the side and see if the metal part looks concave. If it is, you can use your finger to flatten it. Try disconnecting the battery with the display plugged in then hold the power button for 15 seconds and then plug it back in. Hopefully it will help.

Better if you use 99% Isopropyl Alcohol.

thanks. i dont have any of that. nothing has changed, ive contacted the seller of the screen as nothing seems damaged and the old screen works ok. the new screens connector looks ever so slightly different (less exposed metal) so mayne it is just a crappy screen. booo!

Use alcohol (I use everclear) pure grain leaves no residue, other spirits leave a residue. I also use a pink rubber eraser to remove tarnish / corrosion from contacts.
