Possible water damage, ribbon cable, I/O

Hi everyone,

I decided to open my macbook air for possible inside cleaning (getting rid of the dust, etc and possible maintenance). After opening, I was surprised to discover possible water damage - small spot of white/blue mark on I/O part and on the ribbon cable the liquid detector was turned red (just the side of the cable that links with I/O board).

I decided to quickly order new I/O board for this model, as I have heard its better to completly replace the part instead of cleaning it with isopropyl alcohol, as the micro connections could be already damaged anyway.

Dont get me wrong, EVERYTHING WORKED FINE, AND WITHOUT OPENING THE MACHINE I WOULDN'T EVEN SUSPECT ANY LIQUID DAMAGE TO ANY COMPONENTS.

Now the main question, do I have to buy new ribbon cable as well, after I install new I/O board, or would cleaning just the cable with a brush and isopropyl alcohol be enough in this case given its not as complicated part as I/O board itself and it has black rubber isolation on it.

The rest of the machine didnt suffer any liquid damage, it appears as there was a drop of liquid that landed on the I/O board near ribbon cable that possibly happened after previous opening as other side of I/O board hasnt suffer any liquid damage
