Why does my computer not hold a charge?
Could the battery just be faulty or is it something else entirely?

Well how old is the unit? If it's over 2-3 years old, it'll start to only hold charge for roughly 10-15 minutes then die.
If you used a different charger because your old one broke, that is the reason your battery is fried. :c
You will need to replace it sadly, however it is still fine to operate plugged in. ;d
