How do I connect 06 MacBook to new iMac?

Ive been reading just hook up a firewire cable to connect them but my new imac doesnt have a firewire connection on the back. any help would be awesome thank you

I'm hoping ill see the Macbooks HD on the Imac. HD crashed, just trying to save pictures...Thanks a lot!!

You'll need a Apple Thunderbolt to FireWire adapter. Plugged into your new iMac and then connect a FireWire cable into it and the other end into your MacBook. Once you restart the MacBook in Target Mode you'll see the systems HD as an external HD drive on the iMac.

You may need some tools to fix the drive if you can see it give Disk Utilities - First Aid a try. If you can't see the drive you may need to take the drive out and use a SATA to USB adapter to try it that way. If you still can't get it to show up you'll need something else to salvage your files. Let us know how it goes.
