When I first got the console my games went in no problem now once In a while the game won't go all the way in and it goes very slow to the point where you have to guide the disc all the way in. Is my drive going or does it need cleaned or what? I take very good care of my electronics and this just baffles me.

Is this a brand new machine? Some of the new models have worse components used for getting the disc in. These are rollers that are cylindrical and wide and are grey colored inside the drive. They are too smooth which cause this issue. The older models use a more rough one which discs go in easily.
In your case if it's a old model and it's having this issue then those rollers can go offset in position or gearing can be damaged in the drive.
