iPhone 5 Stuck In Bootloop... Any Help?

My iPhone 5 was given to me by a friend and it is in a boot loop. I tried restoring but i get error 9 and my phone is only recognized by the computer in recovery/DFU mode. At first, I thought it was because of the battery, so i took a 100% charged battery from another iPhone 5 and installed it but it still boot loops. Now, I don't know if its because of a chip or the dock connector. Any Suggestions? Thanks

Hey Mojo, here are some things I'd recommend you try:

Different USB Cable

The iTunes error 9 usually occurs when the device is unplugged during the restoration process. Replace your lightning USB cable and try again.

Update iTunes

Reinstall iTunes or update it.

Different Computer

I've been through this situation before where I installed a faulty jailbreak tweak and bricked my device. I tried to install a new version of iTunes on my new computer and it successfully restored my device.

Disassemble and Reassemble

Disassemble and reassemble the device. Maybe you missed something. Follow this guide on battery replacement for instructions.

Different Battery

Purchase a different battery and try it with that. I doubt there is an issue with the battery because your device boots up.

Logic Board Damaged

Your logic board might have a damaged battery connector which is causing this bootloop. Here is the guide for replacing this. You can replace the battery connector itself on the logic board, but that would require soldering.

-Let me know how it goes.

Thank you for answering sir. I appreciate it. I think it gives an error 9 because the iphone is only recognized when in recovery/DFU mode, so when itunes tries to install the firmware it shuts off and therefore disconnects, but i may be wrong. i will try another computer and will reinstall itunes right now. Im using a different cable too. Thanks again!

No problem! I'm glad I can help :)

-If the phone doesn't restore then there might be an issue with your battery connector on the logic board. But before you replace it, disassemble and reassemble your device first.

When you say disassemble and reassemble my device, your saying to take out all the parts and put them back right? Just clarifying.

by

Yes, because before you do any replacements, it's important to check if any mistake was made and confirm if anything actually needs replacements.

Alright thank you. I may inbox you if i have any more questions.
