Large white stripe down the center of my screen

Last night a large white stripe (probably about 1.5" appeared on the center of my screen. I've only had this computer for about 2 months, so I had a mini-freak out. I took a screenshot to see if it would show up, but the white stripe isn't in the screenshot so I'm assuming this is some sort of hardware problem. I also tried restarting it multiple times to no avail.

I've heard about the white screen of death... but this is just a stripe.

It's a brand new computer! How can there already be something wrong with it? Should I bring it to the Apple store? I still have the box and everything it came with.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Yes, take it to the Apple store, since it's still under warranty. A stripe is usually an indication of a damaged screen, so they may try to exclude it from warranty coverage, but that should still be your first move. If the computer does not have physical signs of damage they will probably replace it.
