Options

Power adapter led start blinking when pluged into the laptop

My msi cr620 laptop suddenly stoped working due to surges in electricity from the generator.

Before inserting the charger into the laptop it gives specified voltage when measured with multimeter but when inserted into the laptop the led in the charger start blinking while no sign of power in laptop.

The power jack of the laptop is not shorted and there is no sign of burning in the logic board.

Any help will be welcomed

Hi, Sounds like the adapter is failing under load conditions. Or there is a s/c or lower than expected resistance on the input to the laptop which causes the adapter to effectively shutdown. Have you opened it up (without the power connected) to see if there is anything obviously wrong showing up in the adapter or measured the resistance across the DC input of the laptop?

Hi, Sounds like the adapter is failing under load conditions. Or there is a s/c or lower than expected resistance on the input to the laptop which causes the adapter to effectively shutdown.
