My button does not work

so my ipod is frozen but my button does not work if it did i would restart it but i cant so right now my screen has notification center half of the screen and it womt let me log in can someone help me

Try ifixit.com for starters. or type in "frozen ipod" etc.

I repaired on with similar problem, twice, for my granddaughter.

Tedious repair, you just have to want to do it. Basically the button had slipped and was not activating the pressure switch.

Hey carly, click on hold the home and power buttons together until the phone shuts down and the apple logo shows up.

Update

Since your power button doesn't work, you should replace it. You didn't specify which iPod touch you have but you can look for a guide on replacing the power button here.

OR

If you don't want to do the repair, sometimes this works:

Hold down the 'home' button and simultaneously hold the phone firmly on it's top end with the 'power' button depressed against a hard surface for about 10 seconds.

(A lot of people said this works. I got this from here.)
