ASUS Turns on with blue screen or in safe mode

One day just all of a sudden my Asus laptop would not start properly. I turn it on and a blue screen comes up. Now every once in a while when I try to start it, it opens in a safe mode and says I need to back up my computer. It's not even a year old.
