It will not turn on

I was sitting in my college class taking notes, all of a sudden it just shuts off. Thinking it was a dead battery I plugged it in, the small light that indicates that it's plugged in and changing is red, normally I can still turn it on so I pressed the power button. Nothing happened, I pressed the power button and held it for 30 seconds and still nothing at all. I need to fix this very soon as I have online homework due soon.

I don't know the type of laptop it is exactly all I know is it is a touchscreen .
