iPhone 5 home button on a 5S?

I was wondering if it is possible to put an iPhone 5 home button on my 5s? I bought the phone used and the previous owner replaced the screen without saving the original home button, so Touch iD is not going to work again. I don't want to replace the ribbon cable (because I know that is not possible), but just the button itself.

No, the entire button assembly is designed differently, it won't fit in the first place, and you can't connect them electrically either.

Thank you very much ! Mine has taken on a much harsher tactile feel so I suspect it's checking out.
