Why intermittent freezes, with SSD installed.

I recently purchased a Lenovo G51-35, with a 1 TB HD. Replaced the mechanical drive with solid state -- great, fast -- but recently, the machine will freeze (peripherals, etc.) for 30-40 seconds, refresh, and then work normally. Thought it might be the video driver?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Hi, What are you doing on the laptop when it freezes? Is it always the same activity? Are you always using the same program when it freezes? Have you recently installed a new program or updated an existing one and then the problem started? Can you do a system restore back to just before you think that the problem started and see if it is still there?

SSD are basically memory sticks that are being used as HDD. That being said the solid state drives that you use as hard disk drives have to be not only fast but also reliable. So the first question I would ask you is.

1. Did you do your research on the SSD and it's reliability before you purchased it?

2. Is it a Cheap SSD? - You might not want the cheap SSD.

3. What kind of reviews did others give for this SSD?

4. Did you re-install your OS after putting in the SSD. If not that 20 sec pause could be your SSD waiting for the HDD to read boot time files.

SSD's need to be reliable, stable and fast. And the OS will probably need to be re-installed to utilize the SSD first during Boot-time so it doesn't have to wait for HDD reads and writes.
