Probs loading, starts disc, stops, goes to next, over & over infinitum

This changer is my first mega-changer which had served extremely well without any issues until now.

Basically, one day, it started a strange routine of starting the disc that I'd selected, it would then locate it in the carousel, and load it, the drive would spin-up, and just when you think the picture would start, it would then suddenly stop, unload the disc, and move to the next higher numbered disc in the carousel. It would keep on doing this, disc after disc probably forever if I'd let it. The only way to stop it doing this was to unplug the changer, and plug it back in again. But if I were to attempt to select another disc, it would simply go into this endless routine again.

Any ideas out there? . . . .
