Is it worth upgrading?

Hello,

I have MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012) with:

2.9 GHz Intel Core i7

8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Original 750 GB HDD

The question is:

Is it worth upgrading to a Samsung EVO 850 SSD

Or, should I buy a new Laptop ?

Are you are experiencing problems that make you feel you need an upgrade?

Your system seems fine from the specs!

Yes, the new SSD will speed up load times across the system (startup & apps)

Why do you think you need the SSD?

for startup and apps as you said (Alex Hus), it takes more than 1.5 min to open Final Cut pro & 3 - 4 mins starting up

There are three ways this can go.

If your computer is in great shape both inside and out, and you don't have any speed or virus issues, stick with your current computer until you do have issues.

If it is in great shape on the outside but is slow, upgrade to the Samsung SSD. Cheap investment for a potentially great improvement.

If you feel like your computer has taken a beating and is past its lifespan, I would suggest a new computer, especially if you need it for work or use it extensively(assuming you can afford one right now).

It all depends on how it is right now.

I use it for editing, programming, virtual machine and few games that works on it. Actually it has a scar on bottom Left side, really small one. And nothing else.

" I know SSD won't change graphics, But it change loading time. "
