Why does my iPhone have a white screen with black lines?

I tried to turn on my iphone the other day and when I pressed the home button all I saw was a white screen that had a few thin black lines on the screen.

Everything else still works on the phone I can receive and answer calls, the touch screen still works.

Is this a problem with the connectors, or is the screen broken?

u may need to get a new lcd screen or check the cables to see if it is jutting out even the slightest bit. when checking the cables make sure that all the tiny metal clips are there and none are missing from the rows.
