Severed LCD connector replacement?

Hi.

I was fixing the home button of an iPhone 4S and I accidentally severed a very thin connector that ran along with the screen connectors.

As a result the screen doesn't work (although the phone seems to work fine, it is recognized by itunes).

What is that very small connector? Is it possible to replace or do I have to replace the whole screen?

Thanks.

Answer this question I have this problem too

If you sliced through the ribbon cable you can repair it. The screen has to be replaced. If you could upload a picture of the damage connector would be more helpful.
