iPad stuck in DFU mode and not restoring

Hi,

I have an iPad 4 is currently stuck on DFU mode. When I try to restore in iTunes, it may do one of these 2 things:

1. After extracting the software, the iPad displays the logo and a progress bar but is not progressing (even if I leave it for an hour). It will freeze on that screen or iTunes will give the error 9 notification.

2. After extracting, iTunes will immediately give the error 4014 notification.

Please help...thank you!

Chosen Solution

First try updating your iTunes

First, open up iTunes. Then, click the "Help" tab on the main menu, and click "Check for Updates" you should be prompted with "A new version of iTunes is available. Would you like to download it now?", then click "Download iTunes"

Try restarting your computer, if that doesn't take, try this

create new user account on computer - administrator.

open itunes

connect usb to computer but not on phone

power off iphone

hold the home button and connect cable to phone - kepp holdong home until you see the itunes icon on iphone screen

- once on computer screen , you will see that iphone is in recovery mode , let go of home button

- click restore on computer screen

- set up the iphone as new - do not restore from itunes backu up or icloud-

- after you set up as new and on home screen on iphone - then restore from back up
