excessive noise from coolers after replacing hdd

The new HDD is installed on the imac has no temperature sensor connector and cable leave that loose. That is not connected. I closed the imac and OSX install correctly. But the problem is that the cooler makes excessive noise. Probe smcFanControl or programs like fancontrol but I had the solution. I recommend doing to fix this problem?

Best Regards!

Replace the temperature sensor. Apple part #922-7242. iFixit does not carry this part. You can get one from Welovemacs for $59.95: http://www.welovemacs.com/9227242.html

or from me for $35.00 (click on my icon and email me)

There is software called HDD Fan Control designed to fix this problem, it uses SMART to track the drives temperature instead of the sensor, and does control the fan correctly

www.hddfancontrol.com

Works great
