Repairs for most tablet computers. Because of their small size and frequent use of adhesive, tablet repair is often more involved than laptop repair.

No BIOS, reset goes to dnx mode, waiting for fastboot command

I have a NuVision TM800A510L 8" tablet. This thing has been returned twice; I've probably been able to use it for a total of 15 minutes! This time it powers on to a wifi connection screen, shows my wifi is connected, and then goes to "checking for updates" and that's it. Loops back to first screen. Hard reset (I held volume (-) and power buttons for 10 sec) takes me to "Dnx mode, waiting for fastboot command" Hooked it up via USB to my laptop which recognized it as external media storage but would not interact with it. How can I get back the operating system and apps it supposedly came with?

Answer this question I have this problem too

I have been trying to reset the tablet. It shows Dnx mode, waiting for fastboot command stays like that for a while then shuts off. Is it a virus or something wrong with the tablet. Then I try just the power button and it shows nuvision powered by android and then goes to a black screen. PLease help. Very disappointed. Would this be covered until the warranty.

I have a NuVision (older) tablet, TM0003A5500L, and I can get to the Recover Mode by turning off the laptop, then pressing and holding the On/Off button until it starts up. Immediately I pressed and held the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons. Within 5 - 10 seconds the screen begins to flash between the Recover Mode, Normal Boot Mode, Power Off Mode, and Reload Bootloader Mode. Immediately let go of both buttons. I then was able to press the Volume Down or Volume Up button to navigate between the modes. Once in a mode, select it by pressing the On/Off button. Cant tell you where to go from here because I'm a novice and every choice I've made, except Apply Update from ADB in the Recovery Mode has not fixed my problem. I've tried every other option, including wiping my data/factory reset and wiping cache partition, but nothing has worked and I don't know what to do to "apply update from ADB". Hopefully this will help you get to a helpful menu..

Hi felindsay,

I was able to get into the BIOS by using an external keyboard(with micro USB to USB adapter) by pressing F10 on boot. I'd try to reset the BIOS to defaults and check the boot order.

If you don't have a recovery drive, you could try a few hard shutdowns and this should prompt the Windows recovery process. You can try to run the built in recovery from there to RESET your device. This should bring it back to Out of Box.
