I lost a screw

I was replacing the battery of my iPhone 5 and lost two screws that hold down the small plate covering the connections for the display and camera. Now with the battery replaced and everything connected the display is still not working. Is this because of the screws? Or is something else wrong? (I tried disconnecting and reconnecting the battery as suggested and still nothing )

Answer this question I have this problem too

The screws are not that important. They just hold the flex connectors from coming off if you drop the phone.

Does it connect to iTunes? Does it make a charging beep? Can you ask Siri to play music?

The screws only hold down the metal plate. A common mistake is breaking of the resistors or capacitors next to the battery conector. You would need to have a professional repair tech with micro soldering skills to repair the problem.
