Won't work unless using power cord.

I have had the Apple Genius look at my computer. My Mac Book Pro (2015) only works when using power cord. When I plug it in it is green for 2 seconds and then turns orange. The battery does not charge. I was told that I needed to spend $1,632 to have the problem fixed. I am saving my money.

This was a year ago. My battery has drained to 34% but when plugged in still works. I am interested in knowing what happens when the battery drains to ZERO? Will my Mac still work if plugged in to electrical outlet? This is my biggest concern.

Thank you in advance to anyone that can answer this question for me. I know little about computers and can deal with it only working when plugged. But what happens when battery drains to zero?

Can you install this app: coconutBattery and post a screenshot of what it shows you. Try it with the power adapter plugged in and again not.

I agree $1,632 US dollars is way to much!

Yes, your mac will continue to operate while plugged in even if there is no battery installed at all.
