Can I change the Time Capsule A1254 settings to accept CCC system?

I have a Time Capsule A1254 (First Generation) the system does not see the hard drive anymore.

When I took it out and installed it into a reader, the HD shows up and tells me there are three (Partitions?) on it: AirPort Disk 997.8GB, APconfig 1.05 GB and APswap 1.05 GB.

Since I never used the Time Machine system, I would like to set the HD up to make WiFi CCC and use them instead. In my opinion CCC is better than Time Machine because it is Bootable and is not otherwise CCC has the same features (and more) than.

Any suggestions?

I love TLA's and FLA's but you do need to give us a clue on what your TLA here CCC means.

If by "CCC" you mean Carbon Copy Cloner, then you can use CCC to make backups to the Time Capsule's internal hard drive ... or even to an externally attached USB drive.

However, CCC will recommend that you create a disk image instead of a direct clone on a network drive.

The other thing to take into consideration is that a CCC backup and one provided by Time Machine are different methods of backing up. CCC is primarily designed to clone a hard drive and make that back up bootable. Time Machine is designed to create incremental backups. A good overall back up strategy should include both methods to ensure you can gain back access to critical data.

Wait a minute here! You can't use Carbon Copy to clone the Time Capsule's drive it's a proprietary format.

I don't use Carbon Copy any more. Apples Migration Assistant does a better job and is quicker! You can even create master images onto flash drives and use Disk Utility to image them onto fresh drives.
