iPhone 5c top of screen heating up after screen replacement

I've been trying to fix this iPhone for quite a while but still have not gotten it right. I changed the battery and the iPhone seems to turn on since iTunes detects it and the phone will start making the charging sound over and over again.

But the screen is not turning on at all after I've connected correctly, and what I've noticed now is that the top of the screen (where the front camera is) is now overheating. It seriously feels like it can burn someone's finger just by touching it.

Any idea what I could've done wrong? Thanks in advance c:

Have you tried another front camera flex cable? Sounds like the cable or plug of the cable is damaged.

If the screen is not turning on at all, then the screen may be faulty.

I assume you have used the 4 screws to hold the front display cables metal plate on properly? (Make sure you put them in the right spots as putting the incorrect screw can damage the logic board)
