Is it possible to swap select 3000 components for 2000 components?

I bought a PSP 2000 a while back as I heard the 3000's screen had interlacing issues, yesterday I (very kindly) got given a 3000 and sure enough (although the colours are improved) the interlacing makes the screen look worse than my old 2000, other than that I really like the changes to the 3000 model though.

I was wondering if it is possible to swap components between the two models? My ideal machine would be everything from the 3000 but with the 2000's screen (but I assume that's not possible), does anyone know what can be swapped? Would I be able to take all the internals of the 2000 and put them inside the 3000's case? Any chance of transplanting the internal mic?

Thanks in advance for any helpful tips!

Matt

Some parts yes! (UMD) But screen no :( The flex cables are different sizes. The 2000 board doesnt have a connection for a mic.

The only thing you can do is swap the housing. The UMD and front housing can be swapped
