Microphone does not pick up sound or voice (not on mute)

I have only had the headset for about a month now and just today I noticed that it doesn't pick up my normal volume voice like it always has. I spoke louder almost a yell and then it picked up the sound but it makes a loud buzz right into my ear from the right ear cup where all of the electronics are located. I took that side apart with the help of a video and none of the wires leading to the microphones seem to be damaged. Anyone have any idea what happened? I haven't dropped it or anything that should cause real damage to it, like I had said I have only had the headset for only about a month.
