No service in 3G mode

I had "No Service" on my Iphone 3GS. I tore down my phone and and reassembled everything to make sure the antenna was making the correct contact with the outer frame. Now I have service, but when I switch to 3G mode there is "No Service". I've tried all the rebooting and network resets, etc.

Any suggestions?

Options

may be a dock connector problem, you can either replace just the antenna flex or replace the entire dock ( a much easier job)
