Keyboad does not type correctly. Some keys do not type at all.

My Powerbook mid-2010 version's keyboard fails to type correctly, Initially I could reset the keyboard by resetting the PRAM. That no longer works. The keys that do not work are the keys that convert to numbers as if a numberpad.

I have had to purchase a portable keyboard operated by bluetooth. That keyboard covers the track pad. I have purchased a replacement keyboard but before I install it I am wondering if the problem is a bad PRAM battery. If so, what replacement battery should I look for?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Why is it unlikely to be the Pram? For several weeks (months), resetting the Pram would reset the keyboard. That condition worsened till now, the keyboard is never generates an "o" or a "y" or an "i". To me it seemed that the Pram was degrading...

If it's a keyboard problem, it's very unlikely that it's the PRAM. Worse case scenario is a new upper case or logic board.
