Why does my click wheel not turn.

I used my ipod on Sunday and it worked fine. When not in use I turn off and put the hold button on. When I went to use it on Monday the wheel will not turn. I have taken it off hold. I have let the battery completely die and recharged it. I can hear it playing thru my car or desk system but cannot make any adjustments to it.

If the iPod reacts to the wheels "push-functions" but not to the "touch-functions" (turning) then my guess is that the problem is within the click wheel, and that it should be replaced.

If it reacts to neither, then I fear the problem lies deeper and will be harder and more expensive to fix.

if you haven't allready, please study the teardown: iPod Classic Teardown or the guide to install a click wheel: iPod Classic Click Wheel Replacement
