Issues with the Home Button during a screen replacement

I did a screen repair on an iPad 4th Gen and everytime I set the LCD and Digitizer in place the home button fails to work. The connection is in, is it something that is an easy fix or will it need a new button flex?

Options

If you click the button while the digitizer and lcd are not completely in place would it work? If so it might alignment. If it doesn't work at all even when you are sure to be clicking it a new flex would be the next step!
