Since I put in a new hard drive my Mac won't update!

I replaced the hard drive quite a few months ago , since then my Mac refuses to update. It goes through the process then when it supposed to restart it just sits there .

So basically I guess my question would be has anyone had this problem or know what I can do to fix it.

Options

Try boot to the repair partition by holding down the option key and selecting it? Next run Disk Utilities.

Why did you replace the hard drive? What was it doing and did you replace the hard drive cable?

You may not remember being helpful in my replacement of the hard drive,,we tried everything else first. Then I was kind of left on my own when it came to partitioning , somehow I got it done ,not sure if it's right though!

I also have an external hard drive with everything on it, I have not been able to figure that out either, to put everything back on my Mac.

Lastly IVe been kind of in a pitty party. I found out recently I have Multiple Sclerosis. Which affects my brain at times, so I'm getting back out here and not letting it have any more of me"

Sorry you had some problem with the install. Sometimes I miss updating question. Don't accept an answer till it's complete and your problem is solved or found to be unsolvable. First see if you can get to that repair partition. If you did the back up as a Time Machine backup, if you ever have to wipe the drive, do reinstall and when you are setting it up it will ask if you want to restore from it.

Hi so far I tried the reboot and it did not work.

Yeah I really wished I would have done the Time Machine back up.

I will eventually figure out how to do it. Still not updating. What next ?

Have you had any problems with the screen? How about a lot of beach ball action?

I'm starting to have some problems with the screen. I don't know what beach ball action is?

The sound went out yesterday, I can only get sound when I put a speaker in.
