battery charging, DC-in board(or Magsafe board?)

My 15 inch Pro is

not charging batteries and shows bad connection status when diagnosed at the Mac store.

Other known good charger gives the same status. Is this an

indication of bad Magsafe board, or left I/O board? Are they one and the same part?

(they referred to it as a DC-in board)

They also noted to me that there was some heat on the underside in the

back center under the logic board area

that didn't seem normal after a short time active.

The left i/o board includes the magsafe connector.

I'm not sure what Mayer is referring to. I don't see any links to ipod parts in the guides for the A1211.

I do see links to the correct parts at iFixit in both the i/o board guide and the battery connector guide for the A1211:

It appears that the links have been corrected now. They were not when I made my post.

Although iFixit does not list this part in their guide, I found it by searching elsewhere it's Apple number 922-7928. This is the part I would replace first: http://www.welovemacs.com/9227928.html

This part is mis-marked by iFixit: http://www.ifixit.com/iPod-Parts/Touch-3...

I'm flagging it because I've seen this before.
