DIfference Between Thick or Thin

How do I tell the difference between a thick and thin Ipod Classic 160

@hughbabe you could use a kitchen scale and weigh your iPod. The "thick" is ~5.7ounce's/163g and the "thin" is ~4.9 ounce's/137g. Check your serial number on this site and see what it tells you. If it says iPod Classic its thick, if it says iPod Classic (late 2009) it's thin.

Thick: dual platter hard drive, thin: single platter hard drive.

The nice feature about the thick model is that there's more room for modifications like a 2000mah battery, if you remove the original hd and switch it out with a ssd.
