Where to find Trackpad/keyboard cable guard screws?

Block Image

I'm in the process of replacing my logic board when I realize that I'm missing the 2 screws for the cable guard as shown in step 18- (MacBook Pro 15" Unibody Late 2011 Logic Board Replacement) I'm having one heck of a time trying to find these any where for sale, online or in person. Any suggestions? I've read that that the guard isn't necessary on a few forums, is this true?

FIRST, why are you replacing the logic board. This model does have a recall out on the logic board.

I got it from a friend of mine, he attempted a trackpad repair and ended up ripping the ZIF connector right off of the board. He gave me the busted laptop, and everything is accounted for minus those 2 screws. I managed to reassemble the laptop and got it to power on, however due to the ZIF connector being ripped off the board I had no way of operating the system. The keyboard ribbon cable is unharmed, so I don't have to worry about replacing that.

Would you mind posting a couple of photos, We might be able to figure out a work around.

I posted a photo of the ZIF connector that is missing from my logic board, I'm at work currently so I don't have access to take any actual pictures at this time.

Is that a ZIF connector or Your ZIF connector?

It is a ZIF connector, not mine personally. I've now replaced the logic board and trackpad, however my trackpad sensitivity screw is missing. No click= track pad not selecting anything. I can navigate the mouse around no problem, but due to the missing sensitivity screw I can't select anything. By the way my logic board and track pad swap went great! Starts right up, stays cool from what I can tell. Just need to find a trackpad sensitivity screw at this point, also trouble shoot why my keyboard backlight doesn't seem to be working
