Why does my screen get stuck on a page when I’m reading?

I’m having trouble with my Kindle sometimes when I turn the page. The problem is that when I try to turn the page, the page won’t change, and I’ll try again a few times and it will either take a few minutes just to simply turn the page, or it will freeze completely and I’ll have to refresh my Kindle in the middle of my reading. Is there any way to fix this, or is my Kindle just slow?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

My kindle fire is frozen. I am unable to get to home page nor settings. I have tried to turn it off and that doesn’t work either. Any suggestions?

Hi Delroy! Don’t worry, that’s a very common problem with Kindles, and the solution is relatively simple. What you need to do is go to settings and turn the page refresh on. This makes it so that the screen refreshes every time you turn the page, which should solve the problem. So first, hit the settings button on the top right of the screen, then go the reading options, and finally turn the page refresh on. Also, to simply improve overall speed, it might be a good idea to delete some unnecessary data that’s stored on the device, but the page refresh should work. Hope this helps!

I have a brand new Paperwhite and I notice that when I’m reading outside in the bright sun, page turning is somewhat problematic. (Behavior similar to that described by Delroy Fong.) I will try the page refresh tip and see if that helps.
