G4 iBook, OS 10.5, 1.2ghz won't recognize bluetooth dongle

Just tried to use a new Kensington BlueTooth USB dongle and the system/computer will not recognize it so that I can pair my new wireless keyboard with it. HELP!

I returned the item to Fry's Electronics and bought a different brand very well known brand that works perfectly. It cost three times as much but it works and even states on the package that it is for Macs.

Try a different USB port. Go under the Apple to "about this Mac". Go to more info and click on the USB link (not the blue tooth), see if it's showing up. Try it on another computer to see if it's defective.

I did try the two ports that were available. More info did not show a bluetooth USB connected. Also I plugged it into my iMac and both my wireless mouse and keyboard disconnected. As soon as I removed the dongle they reconnected.
