replacing the micro USB connector on a moto X

My Moto X had a finicky micro USB connector for many months. Charging involved using specific cords that worked better than others, and then abruptly I could no longer chage the phone. Naturally I suspect the micro USB connector needs to be replaced. I don't see a guide for this or the availability of a replacement part. Does someone have a similar experience and a solution?

The micro USB port is part of the lower antenna assembly. If you're handy with a soldering iron or hot air rework station you could replace the port. Just pull the assembly as directed here:
