Home button not working after display& lightning connector replacement

I replaced the dock connector and the display. Now the home button and touch ID are not working. Not even a reaction.

I cant access to the phone beacause its not mine (passcode lock). So the date is the 1st of january on the phone. Maybe that is the problem?

Or is it a faulty dock connector? Or the flex cable of the home button?

Jonas,

When replacing or repairing the lower assembly of the iPhone 5S there is a very thin and delicate cable that runs from the Home button and needs to be plugged into the connector just below the battery but right above the lightning connector assembly. This is the cable that brings power to the home button.

Please check to make sure the connection is as solid as can possibly be. Plugging this in can be very tricky. It is possible that this cable is loose or possibly crimped/broken.

I would love to know if this resolves the issue.

Regards,

Michael

Hi, thank you for your answer. I checked that this cable (Touch ID flex) has a good connection to the connector above the lightning connector.

I changed the dock connector twice on my 5S without any problems. So maybe a faulty dock connector?

Is the phone able to charge and be recognized in iTunes?

Do you have another known good working screen and home button you can test with?

by

Yes the phone is able to charge and is recognized in itunes?

I dont have another home button here for testing. And the screen works well.

If it is recognized in iTunes that is a good thing. I suspect the cable/home button is failing or has failed. If you are able to eventually access the phone you could turn on Assistive Tough to use the phone until it is repaired.

If you appreciate my assistance please don't forget to give me credit. I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

Michael

Now i installed the old lightning connector and the home button and touch id is working again. So the new dock connector is faulty.
