tv LED screen needs replaced

I purchased a 55 inch LED, which arrived with a broken screen. Suffice it to say that Samsung decided to not fix it, and just let me have the television sans cost. I am assuming (yes, I know), that the innards are functional.

My question to all you out there in knowledge-land, is...... Is replacing the screen via a TV repair shop a feasible option? Since the TV is now mine free and clear at no cost to me, can I get the screen replaced at a reasonable cost?

Last year I ordered a 44" RCA TV on line from Walmart. First one came with a broken screen, second one came with a broken screen. I returned both. Finally got shipped a good one. The problem with repair is finding the part cheaper than the whole thing can be had for. The law of supply and demand will dictate the price. Unfortunately, there's probably 10 machines with broken displays for every one with a board failure. The best advice I can give you is to buy the identical machine. Pull the working parts from the broken one and either store them in case of a failure in the future or price out the guts on eBay and see if there is any demand.
