I need to upgrade memory above 1G; how do I do it?

I am starting to get synch and error messages indicating that there is not enough memory in my system. How do I upgrade the memory in my system, what type is required; what is the price range; and what steps are necessary to make seamless upgrade; and how much can I add? Will this likely fix the problem?

Check to see how much free space you have on your hard drive. If less than 10% clean some stuff off. What is telling you about the errors?

Here's a possible fix I found on Apple's discussions: I fixed the problem on my computers tonight by going into the MobileMe Sync Preferences, clicking on the Advanced button, then unregistering both my MacBook Pro and my iMac. The prefs then gave me the option of deleting the MobileMe data, which I did. Then I synced up from my MacBook Pro (which had good calendar data) to reset the MobileMe sync database, and finally synced the iMac down from the new MobileMe. Somehow the MobileMe database must have gotten corrupted. But now all is well.

Find the memory by clicking the link under the picture to the right that says "166 parts". You will have to find your specific model of MacBook pro. We also have a guide on how to install the RAM that will be linked from the part's page.
