SOLVED: 7 red blinks ,3 second gap, repeated when switched on - Sony Bravia 40" LCD TV

7 red blinks ,3 second gap, repeated when switched on

No ability to switch on, only 7 red blinks that repeat. This is a 200 mh KDL 40 HX 700.

For a few days power off completely allowed normal function, now no ability to power on.

Options

7 red flashes- main board over heating, can be short on power board or main logic board

I'd open it and look for a burned spot. I'd go for the power board first.

Possibly a cold solder joint.
