Should the motor produce light?!?

Great guide!

Because the blender makes a "burnt rubber" whenever its run regardless of load, I removed the cover from the base to inspect the fan, motor, and assembly.

Seeing nothing amiss, I cradled the base (inverted) and "pulsed" the blender. For every pulse, there was a flash of bright light. It was white, not orange.

Is this normal? Could this be arcing? That might explain the "burning" smell.

@engineer that will depend on where you've seen the light. It could simply be the the brushes that are arcing. Try to video what you see and post it so we can see what you see.
