Logic board swapping for higher GHz

My 2.26 logic board is dying. I was wondering if it is possible to swap logic board from 2.26 to 2.53 from same mac model of same year as both CPU were offered? same RAM/ same port/ same GPU. It seems the mounting points a similar but only judging from picture is difficult.

Figure the price is only ~100$ difference might as well get some speed.

Laptop CPU's are running on a fixed clock unlike some of the desktop CPU's.

Here's the Apple P/N's:

  • 661-5559 - 2.40 GHz (your current logic bd)
  • 661-5560 - 2.66 GHz (the optional bd)
