What kind of graphics card can I upgrade to? Raedon r9 290?

I was looking at upgrading my graphics card to something a little better for gaming. I was looking at the Raedon R9 series preferably the 290 or 390. The problem is i have no idea how this works so I don't even know if these will physically fit in my computer. So can I upgrade to either of these (or another graphics card on par with these)?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Sadly, you cannot upgrade the graphics card in an iMac. There is not an actual graphics "card" so to say inside of an iMac. Instead, the GPU itself is soldered to the logic board. If you need more performance, you may want to consider selling your current iMac and putting that money towards purchasing a newer model.

the iFixit website has a guide to replacing the graphics card. Is this just for replacing with the same exact thing or is it possible you're mistaken? (not trying to be rude, I honestly no next to nothing about this, I'm just trying to be sure before I give up)

I am so sorry, I was thinking about the newer iMacs. Yes, you can replace the graphics card in your machine but you can only replace it with one that is identical to the one that is already installed. You cannot upgrade it because newer cards have higher power requirements and run hotter.
