Ice Maker not working

The ice maker is making ice but the button to distribute the ice isn't working! The refrigerator was off balance and the water was freezing in the holder and causing the ice not to come out when the button was pushed. Then all of a sudden the button quit working. It has the cubed and crushed option. It was only pushed a couple of times before it quit working and wasn't pushed anymore! The ice was cleaned out of the holder and the refrigerator leveled but the button still doesn't work. Could someone please give some help with this? Also how do you get the trim off from around the outside of the front to fix it? We took the door handle off and got to part of it but the trim still wouldn't come off! Thank you for your time!
