Transfer ram from old MacBook (early 2008) to Intel iMac 8,1?

Hi, I took out 2 ram sticks from an old Macbook (early 2008) and I want to put them in an Intel Imac 8,1 20 inch, is it safe?

Also how do I clean the ram because on 1 side its dusty.
