Depending on the type of editing your doing you want something with a lot of ram and a fast processor. you'll also need access to large storage .If your doing special effects all of these will have an effect on the rendor speed. You may want to consider a dual hard drive setup . One for storage and one for speed . So ideally look for 16gb of ram an i7processor a ssd for speed and a large secondary hard drive for storage . A dedicated video card is also a necessity. This is just repeating what was said in the link you sent . But for best results in editing get a Mac. Hope this helps

If you are a pro video editor, you must be familiar with the raw HD or 4k video format and how important they are in video production.

For smooth and easy video editing, you will need a laptop with a good graphics card. The cheapest and good quality card which you can find on the market is Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 costs around $1,099. But if you are looking for something more powerful like Quadro or GTX 1070, it would cost you around $2,500 or may be more.

Some laptop recommendation

  • Dell XPS 15
  • MacBook Pro
  • Alienware Area-51m
  • Microsoft Surface Book 2
  • HP Spectre x360
  • Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme
  • MSI WS65 9TM

If your budget is low, you can also check gaming laptops because gaming laptops also come with a high graphics card.
